Summer School: mathematical methods for coastal engineering

by Hamish Harvey last modified 2006-12-19 13:33

Registration is open for the 2007 Summer School in mathematical methods for coastal engineering, to be held in Plymouth, UK, 19-28 June 2007.

This will be the second time that this Summer School has run, following a very successful debut in 2005. The summer school, sponsored by EPSRC, is primarily intended for UK based PhD students, research assistants and fellows. It is also open to a small number of participants from other EU countries and industry. It aims to provide the solid mathematical foundations for the study and investigation of the many physical processes that are important in describing the coastal environment. It is aimed at candidates who are working in the field of coastal engineering or coastal dynamics and those from mathematical and physical science who may like to apply their skills to coastal engineering.

The School is also designed to provide opportunities to improve transferable skills such as data management, presentations and group working. A comprehensive set of lecture materials, key references and some examples of software will be provided for each participant.
