EU Floods Directive published
Directive 2007/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2007 on the assessment and management of flood risks has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union (ref L 288/27 dated 06/11/2007).
The purpose of this Directive (PDF, 74Kb) is to establish a framework for the assessment and management of flood risks, aiming at the reduction of the adverse consequences for human health, the environment, cultural heritage and economic activity associated with floods in the Community.
